OC Eclipsed Star

Another vector-art I made with SAI. I guess, I get used to that program, slowly.

As references for this picture, I used the Pony Creator by generalzoi and Star Gazing Twilight by fyre-flye – two really amazing works.

Because of the fact, that I created her just for fun with the Pony Creator and started to like the whole design, she features still the mane of Fluttershy and the eyes of Rarity (more or less). I hope, this is no problem for you guys. Her tail, however, was one of the later ones in Pony Creator – it's not Fluttershy's version. She's a bit taller than regular ponies like Twilight Sparkle and friends, but is smaller than Luna (from the episode 'Luna Eclipsed'). Her hoofes are so detailed, because I like the 'unicorn-design'-ones (since childhood, when I saw for the first time 'The Last Unicorn'). This cutie mark I gave her may be simple, but I wanted a dark aspect for the whole character-design.

I'm sure, no one really cares for informations about my OC here. (Especially, 'cause I would like to handle her in contact with the Main Five.) But however, I just want to talk about her backstory.


Eclipsed Star prefers to picture herself as a regular unicorn. Though, she's after all an Allicorn or rather an 'unicorn flutter pony', she refuses to be one. To hide her wings from others, so that nobody knows about them, she wears a magical saddle, which only persons with strong magic can open. That – of course – doesn't fit her interest in fashion, but its the only way to seal her wings without any trouble or cuting them off.
If she likes or not: She needs the wings in the same way like her horn. They are a part of her. While her horn posses her strong magic with the power of light, her wings are the origin of her second, darker magic. Because of that magic, Eclipsed can't fall into chaos, since she has (with that darkness) a bit pure chaos inside her. That means: Discord would not be able to corrupt her – she is simply immune against him. That makes her his greatest enemy. But this chaos inside her has a fatal downside. If Eclipsed feels too many negative emotions, her wings secrete 'spores', which transforms her into a cold personality, who cares for nothing and nobody. Who loses his will to life – and becomes an emty beeing. This happened one time in her past – and was the reason for her decision to wear that magical saddle.

As a friendly, gentle pony, she's always there for her friends. Never afraid to say what she thinks, but being polite in the same time, she acts in some way like a big sister, protector and leader. Because of her love for books, flowers, animals, fashion, music and tasty food, she pleases the Main Five as a friend very well. Especially Twilight likes the intelligent unicorn with the blue mane. Eclipsed is a little bit headstrong and tends to be a lone wolf, if she's frustrated thanks to others. Never afraid to argue with others, as soon as they behave like jerks, she can be very authoritative.
